Nico

Nico came to massage with a love for helping to work through the things that hold us back physically and mentally, opening a path forward to bloom into lighter, more centered versions of ourselves. Leaving a career in Electrical Engineering in 2021, she took off to hike the Appalachian Trail. Afterwards, merging her love of deep technical study with a lifetime of helping friends and family through chronic pains, she studied at Spatech to become an LMT. There, she began focusing on learning new techniques based on the pains clients were experiencing to help them more accurately.

Every body is different as are the ways we come about our pains, so tailoring methods to the individual is important. Through the study of energy work via Polarity Therapy, Nico brings empathy into all sessions and the understanding that the mind and body both need healing for lasting wellbeing. And having studied Therapeutic Massage techniques such as Swedish, Myofascial, Deep Tissue, Cupping, and Scraping therapies, Nico is able to better locate the affected areas in the body and offer different methods until the root issues can be resolved effectively. She believes that by working together, people can heal the physical and mental injuries of the past and move forward, leaving pain behind.

Outside of massage, Nico lives life joyfully as a proud trans woman, working to help heal the community by ensuring people are fed through various organizations while making time to hike the lovely mountains, craft kaleidoscopes, dance, sing karaoke enthusiastically, and play extensive table top games!

Jamie

Jamie is a passionate yoga teacher, Reiki Master, and Yoga Tune Up® practitioner. Her journey into yoga began in 2005 after recovering from competitive swimming-related shoulder surgeries, a turning point that led her to discover the healing power of mindful movement. After completing her yoga teacher training at Tranquil Space in DC in 2011, Jamie taught in the DC area before returning to Southern Maine in 2019.

In addition to yoga, Jamie’s own experience with anxiety and burnout stress in the corporate world led her to explore Reiki as a healing tool. Reiki helped her manage stress and reconnect with her sense of well-being, ultimately inspiring her to leave corporate America and pursue a path of holistic healing. This journey led to the creation of Renew and Restore ME, where Jamie offers personalized and group sessions to help others find balance, ease, and relaxation in their lives.

When not teaching or focusing on R&R ME, Jamie enjoys rock climbing, floating, gardening, and embracing the Maine lifestyle with her spouse, two kids, and a growing collection of plants.

Laila

Laila discovered a love for massage while completing her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine at the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. There, she focused her studies on physical medicine, nutrition, and integrative mental health, while working as a teacher’s assistant for bodywork, hydrotherapy, and nature cure classes. She started her first job at the height of the pandemic, and got to witness the healing power of touch to relieve pain and stress firsthand. After completing her naturopathic degree, she moved to Maine to experience life on the East coast and be closer to friends.

Laila’s style is a blend of Swedish and Shiatsu. She likes to use gentle rocking techniques to help calm the nervous system before moving onto deeper, focused work. She is also a big self-care advocate, and is happy to give customized therapeutic exercise recommendations to support your health and wellbeing.

When she is not working with massage clients, you can find her teaching at Hustle & Flow Studio, in the kitchen cooking up something delicious and nourishing, or exploring nature with friends!

Kate

Kate started Saltwater Wellness in 2020 after spending 9 years as a massage therapist and manager at a large massage practice where she honed her skills, connected with many of her current clients, and loved being part of a collective care group. She envisions Saltwater Wellness as a space where practitioners can offer skillful and intuitive care to help individuals heal and learn, so they may better serve themselves and their community.

Ever-curious about the ways in which we connect with the world around us and to ourselves, her passion is finding the places where joy and wellness intersect, and guiding her patients to discover their innate wholeness and health through mindbody awareness, breath, and movement, tailored to the individual.

Kate has been practicing massage for over fourteen years, but she has always worn many hats (sometimes many at once!), including: assistant to a literary agent, bartender, server, property manager, and even a lift operator in Tahoe, CA, for one memorable winter. You can usually find her trying new recipes and restaurants, out for a walk in the woods, exploring the cultural scene in her favorite home city, or planning her next adventure.

Kate is not currently accepting new clients.
